I heart Indian Bureaucracy

I am trying to register a .in domain name (India) – I am doing it through an Indian company, from which I used my international credit card (which I’ll probably regret). Anyway, nothing appeared to be happening so I sent them an email and added their ‘support chat’ to MSN. This is the conversation I had with them, pretty funny –

iihelpdesk says:
Hello Gary
Gary says:
hello there
Gary says:
i was wondering about the status of the domain XxXXxXxXxx.IN that I have tried to register
iihelpdesk says:
You had placed a request for domain registration but we thought it to be a fraud transaction
iihelpdesk says:
that is why we didn’t register the domain fearing chargeback
Gary says:
ok
Gary says:
but its not a fraud transaction so when will it be registered
Gary says:
i have an email from orders@ccavenue.com telling me I have been charged 855INR to my credit card
iihelpdesk says:
well the payment is on hold, let me check
iihelpdesk says:
shall i hope that u won’t charge back
Gary says:
i don’t know what charge back is
Gary says:
so i doubt i’ll be doing it
iihelpdesk says:
charge back means that u will deny the transaction when u r billed for it by credit card company
Gary says:
i have already been billed by ccavenue.com though
Gary says:
so i won’t be doing any charge back
iihelpdesk says:
ok one last question
iihelpdesk says:
what will u do with this domain
Gary says:
xXxxX.in stands for xxXxxxxx
Gary says:
it will be for user pages for the domain name xXxXxXxXx which I have registered
iihelpdesk says:
ok, I will register your domain
iihelpdesk says:
u will receive the mail within half an hour
Gary says:
great thanks
