After ruining Australian tourism with the post ‘Shark Sighting on Google Maps‘ I have an apology to make. I was looking at g2007.com stats and there’s a fair bit of traffic that arrives on the blog for people searching for the shark post –

I was showing this to Amy and showed her the picture and in 5 seconds she said “that looks like a surfer”.

You can see how the mistake can be made. Compared to the other surfers he or she is completely faded out and also looks to be a bit too deep to be surfing. If you turn the supposed shark image around a bit, blow it up a bit and compare it to another surfer, its clearly not a shark –
