Best of 2004

Everyone seems to be doing it, so here is my best of 2004 list.

Album of the Year – Elliott Smith, A Basement on the Hill

A post-humous release from Elliott Smith and to be honest probably my most favourite one. All the tracks are excellent but some stand out above the rest, those include, ‘Kings Cross’, ‘Shooting Star’ and ‘Memory Lane’ to name a few.

Cinema Trip of the Year – Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

A crazy film. Carrey, Winslet and Dunst show their acting skills in this sci-fi film about a man who tries to erase his memory of his girlfriend so that he can get over it.

DVD Purchase of the Year – Blue Crush

Chics!!! Surfing!!! Can I say more? It probably doesn’t appeal to most people, but I think this is an excellent film 🙂

Book of the Year – The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

A book through the mind of a child with autism, who takes you on a journey of how he tries to solve the murder of his next door neighbours dog. He ends up reavealing much more. This is definetly my favourite book for 2004, it will be hard to top this in 2005.

Computer Game of the Year – FS2004, A Century of Flight

Not really a game as such but a simulation. This has kept me occupied for hours and hours and has also improved my flying skills to a level in which I hope will have provided some help if I was to take real life flying lessons!

2005 tomorrow, see you then……
